Mary Baldridge, English Language Fellow, will present a 5-hour training, “Teaching English with Brain Based Strategies” on Saturday, December 7th at ETAG in Kutaisi. The training will emphasize activating and focusing strategies to introduce classroom lessons, as well as the importance of manipulating content and the use of organizational strategies and elaborative encoding for long term memory storage and retrieval. Participants will also be introduced to the idea of backward design including the importance of essential questions, learning goals, transfer goals, and authentic assessments when planning lessons.
