The training for the English teachers of Samtskhe-Javakheti region started on February 26. It was conducted by Robert D. Leier, Ph.D. English Language Fellow- Georgia.

The topic of the first meeting was “Teaching for Communication”. Doctor Leier introduced us to a lot of useful issues like: first language acquisition, behaviorist theory, Innatist theory and Interactionist theory, the components of communicative competence, strategies etc. He spoke about the role of a teacher and a learner, the importance of curriculum and lesson planning. Though, the training was held online two hours passed very quickly.
