Description of  the Training

ETAG in-service training courses are available to all ETAG members. To book your place on any courses, please speak to the ETAG training coordinator Lali Mdinaradze lalimdi@yahoo.com or 591601844.

Upon request these trainings will be delivered online:

1. Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) Essentials

Covers the major aspects of modern ELT methodology-theory and practice, prepares for the teacher certification test; Leads to and prepares for the Cambridge exam for English teachers.

Is  designed by the British Council.

Duration 30 hrs.; Fee 90 GEL

2. Basics in Language Testing (BILT)

The course aims to get teachers acquainted with basic principles of language testing and develop in teachers the most essential skills for classroom testing. Methodology used during the training is theory followed by discussion-based practical activities.

Designed by Rusudan Tkemaladze and Emily Tichich with the assistance of the Hornby Trust, UK and Public Affairs Section, US Embassy, Georgia.

Duration 20 hrs. Fee 70 GEL

3. Academic Writing

Trains English teachers in how to teach paragraph and essay writing to intermediate and advanced English students. This course will  also improve the teacher’s own writing  ability and style.

Is designed by ETAG  with the assistance of Public Affairs Section, U.S. Embassy, Georgia

Duration 20 hrs. Fee 70 GEL

4. Language Development

The course compiles the activities that help teachers improve their receptive and productive Skills. It focuses on Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking skills.

The course puts emphasis on the Common European Framework of Reference for languages (CEFR) and is excellent opportunity for teacher professional development.

5. Lesson Planning and Feedback

The aim of the course is to boost teachers’ confidence and develop their practical skills in lesson planning. It highlights different approaches to teaching and learning and focuses on lesson frameworks. The course also trains teachers how to teach grammar and vocabulary and gives them a chance to plan and deliver a demo lesson.

Designed by Katie Kalandadze and Nino Rukhadze.

Duration 5 hrs. Fee 40 GEL

6. Business English for English Teachers

The course is designed along the principles of a low-tech flipped classroom model and offers a range of interactive, communicative, task-based, hands-on, flexible and easily adaptable activities. Particular emphasis is made on vocabulary needed, to ensure that teachers will feel comfortable while delivering business English course themselves in their own teaching environment.

The course is revised, prepared and delivered by Maia Rogava and Nino Rukhadze.
